D. Keith Baugher, Sr., age 76, a native of Harrisonburg, VA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Keith was born on May 1, 1941 to Cornelia Burner Baugher and Ira Jackson Baugher. He graduated with honors from Virginia Tech in 1964. After graduation he was hired by Exxon Corporation where he remained for 33 years. Keith worked as a Process Manager at Exxon in Baytown, TX from 1981 to 1983 and at the Baton Rouge refinery from 1983 until his retirement.
He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and AARP, and was a referee for Baton Rouge, LA and Kingwood, TX soccer leagues. Keith worked with engineer recruitment at Virginia Tech for a number of years and was an advisor for the Junior Achievement Program for high school students. He was a proud Eagle Scout and a member of The Old Guard at VA Tech.
Keith is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lynda Manno Baugher; his children, Douglas Keith Baugher, Jr. and wife Nikki, and Danna Baugher Moeller and husband John; his brothers, Steven Baugher and wife Cathy and Marshall Baugher and wife Laura; his sisters-in-law, Toni Manno Tullier and Phyllis Manno Sheridan and husband Robert; his nieces and nephews that he adored, Michael Tullier and wife Jacky, Paul Tullier and wife Holly, Robbie Pitre and husband Jason, Ryan Sheridan and wife Bo, Raegan Newitt and husband Aaron, and Chris Hargiss; his great nieces and nephews, Sarah and Luke Tullier, Rachael and David Tullier, Brennan, Brooke and Brady Pitre, Laine, Rylan, Hayes and Jude Sheridan, and Sheridan and Brandt Newitt; numerous friends among them are, Wayne Purdom and Dwight Wiggins; and his beloved dog, Barkley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Connie and Jack Baugher; and his brother-in-law, John H. Tullier.
Visitation will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.
