Doug Hood

Norris Douglas Hood, Jr. "Papa Doug", age 68, a native of Houma, LA and resident of Walker, LA passed away on June 29, 2018.

Doug was a Eucharist Minister for the Mission Sacred Heart in Livingston, LA. He retired from LA DOTD as a civil engineer and worked for Southeast Engineers and Pan American Engineers. Doug loved to fish, hunt, and play golf.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Angela Brocato Hood; daughter, Teresa Hood Waggenspack; son, Joseph Douglas Hood and wife Lesley; and grandchildren, Jonnah Douglas Waggenspack, Elijah Michael Hood, and Ollie Reid Hood.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Rita Miguez Hood; and brother, Harold Durocher.

Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs, LA 70726 on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 10:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

Pallbearers will be Michael G. Brocato, Jr., Lyle Brocato, Mike Brocato, Thomas Grezaffi, Craig Duos, Joseph Hood, John Wayne Brocato, Peter Lynn Brocato, and Brian Buvens.

The family of Norris Hood would like to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful people at New Century Hospice for the great care that was given, especially our nurse Markle and Shamelda who took care of Doug. Also our wonderful sitters, Larry York, Chona York, and Carol Williams. Without their help I would have not been able to care for Doug.
