Dorothy Desselle

Dorothy Dot Doyle Desselle passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the age of 86. Dot was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She loved to travel, LSU sports, and especially loved LSU baseball. Dot was a retired underwriter for Guarantee Income life Insurance Co. She was the matriarch, heart, and soul of her family. She will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, John T. Desselle children and spouses, Sheryl Desselle and partner Sue Hunt, Susan and Mitch Gonzales, John and Rhonda Desselle, and Mickie Kirshner sister, Alva Mae Cothern 8 grandchildren, Chris Patterson and wife Sharon, Scott Patterson and wife Noha, Rachel Cruthirds and husband Allen, Danielle Desselle and fiance Brandon Pitre, Matthew Desselle, Tyler Desselle, Sean Kirshner, and Justin Kirshner, and 3 greatgrandchildren Elizabeth and Andrew Patterson, and Claudia Cruthirds. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Mae Doyle and soninlaw Jeff Kirshner. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 11 am with services beginning at 12:00 pm. Reverend Brady Whitton will be officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Special thanks to Dr. Pearson and staff at TNCC at Our Lady of the Lake.
