Retired in 1997 as a registered dietitian at LSU with 38 years of service, she died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 76, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Thomaston, Conn. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 15, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Brent Maher. Interment in St. George Catholic Cemetery. She is survived by her companion, Lamar Massey son, Thomas Aldrich and wife Kimberly, of Baton Rouge sister, Theresa Bettencourt and husband Henry, of Watertown, Conn. a granddaughter, Cara Angelina Aldrich and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who reside in Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her father, Alphonse Denza mother, Dora Denza Hoffman and brother, Robert Hoffman. She graduated from Thomaston High School in Thomaston, Conn., and received a degree in foods and nutrition from the University of Connecticut. She completed a dietetic internship at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Catholic Church or Southside YMCA.
