Donald Strain, Sr.

Donald A. Strain, Sr. passed away on August 16, 2015 at the Butterfly Wing of Baton Rouge General Hospital.

He is back with his loving wife of 57 years. Donald was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Donald retired over 20 years ago from the Louisiana Tax Commission. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Donald enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved to fish.

Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth C. Strain; and his parents Gaston and Dorothy Strain.

He is survived by his children, Donald A. Strain, Jr. and wife Jodie, Fran Strain Bolton, Scott O. Strain and wife Sherry, Pamela S. Ray and husband Alan; his grandchildren, Chandler Strain, Taylor Katchur, Brady Strain, Ella Ray, and Julia Strain.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road Baton Rouge, LA from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 12:00 PM.

Interment will take place at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
