A retired teacher for the State of Louisiana, he died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 80, a resident of Baton Rouge, a native of Leesville and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, March 20, from 11 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. Survived by his wife, Martha Martina Rayburn; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra Lee Scott, Donna and David Loflin and Teresa and Robert Guerin; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Rayburn Jr., David and Mary Rayburn and Mark and Laurie Rayburn; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Rayburn and Richard and Marie Rayburn; grandchildren, Christopher Biby, Joshua Scott, Thomas, Ashley, Dustin, Daniel and Tayler Loflin, Angelina Hasty and Traci, Lanie and Michael Rayburn; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Reece Loflin and Redon Scott. He was preceded in death by two sisters; two brothers; and parents, John and Lillie Rayburn.
