Donald Wayne Pecoraro "Peck"
On June 25, 2015, the Lord called home to rest one of his faithful, hardworking, and beloved servants, Donald Wayne Pecoraro, better known to all as "Peck." Donnie was 68 years old.
Donnie was born on April 26, 1947 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Anthony and Virginia Michelli Pecoraro, the eldest of four siblings.
He was a graduate of Lee High school class of 1965. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Navy, a Vietnam veteran where he served for four years. Upon returning home from the Navy, Donnie went to work for Dow Chemical for 33 years, retiring in 2002.
Donnie was married to Carolyn Virginia Bumpass on July 14, 1973 to this union two lovely children were born.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving devoted wife Carolyn of 43 years, who always stood by his side in the highs and lows of life; one committed son, Chad Wayne Pecoraro and wife Gayle; one daughter, Tiffany Nicole Pecoraro Schexnaildre Bordelon and husband Jason, who he cherished as his little angel; one stepdaughter, Kathy Sanford; five lovely grandchildren, who were the apple of his eyes, Bryce Anthony Schexnaildre, Tayte John Schexnaildre, Izzybelle Nicole Bordelon, Charley Marie Bordelon, and Piper Reneé Pecararo; two sisters, Peggy Pecoraro Abadie, Connie Pecoraro Rozarto; one brother, Ray Anthony Pecoraro; two God sons, Ryan Prettymen, Craig Strelnik; two God daughters, Kellie Rozarto, Alicia Harris Munn; and several special friends, Charlie and Arleen Pitcher (neighbors for thirty six years), Jack and Becky Harris (thirty five years), Jim and Marci Olinde, John and Diane Mizell, Scott Innes, John Schexnaildre, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
The old Jefferson subdivision will truly miss Donnie. He was the pillar of the subdivision. He knew everyone; he was there for everyone through crisis. All the neighbors turn to him to help resolve whatever was going on in the subdivision.
Donnie had strong high values for life, he was never afraid to speak his opinion on what was right, he stood up to the wrong and fought for what is right. One of his favorite quotes was "I am not side stepping, when something is wrong." Donnie left a lasting positive, loving, and caring impression on everyone he came across, a person who once you met him, you would never forget him.
Donnie was not only a servant to his family, church, and friends, but he was committed to many organizations and committees. He participated in community projects, including his great jambalaya cooking for several fundraisers. His jambalaya was known as the best in the south as well as his fried fish.
