Donald Furnish

A retired employee of Turner Industries and member of Plumbers Steamfitters Local 198, he died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 75, a native of Baton Rouge and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by Barry Lagg, pastor. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Furnish two daughters and sonsinlaw, Deborah F. and Walter Wire, and Donna F. and Dr. Robert Walker and four grandchildren, Elliot Carlton Wire, Benjamin Lewis Walker, Laura Elizabeth Walker and William Stuart Walker. Preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Hazel Furnish and brother, Oren C. Furnish Jr. He was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for the care and support given for the past year.
