Don Gary

Don Leon Gary, a native of Houma and resident of Thibodaux, age 67, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2010. He was preceded by his father, Leon Gary Sr., and mother, Lolita Theriot Gary of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his daughters: Denise Doyle, Donna Garner and Risa Garner. He was the brother of Leon Gary Jr. of Baton Rouge and Lolita Girlie Gary of Metairie. Don taught geography at Nicholls State University for over thirtyfive years. He was an avid gardener and loves flowers. He had a leadership role in numerous projects to benefit his community through the Thibodaux Lions Club, Jaycees, and the Chamber of Commerce. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 5:30pm until the memorial service at 6:30pm. Conducted by Deacon Drea Capaci. The memorial service will begin at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local Humane Society Hope for Animals, P.O. Box 1341 Thibodaux, LA 70302 are preferred.
