A retired employee with the Internal Revenue Service and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Lakewood Quarters. She was 82 and a native of DeQuincy. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. until chapel service at 11 a.m. Interment in Houston National Cemetery, Houston. Survived by three sisters, Betty Phillips, of Baton Rouge, Pauline Shirley and husband Huey, of DeQuincy, and Mary Ellen Goepfert, of Baton Rouge and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Crelin brother, Gordy E. Jacobs and parents, Gordie E. and Ruth E. Jacobs. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and took care of the church library.
