Dick P Talbot, 65, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home. He was a native of Morgan City and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. While attending LSU, Dick was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Upon graduating from LSU he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and began his military service at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. Before his honorable discharge, he served his country with a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Dick was an industrial engineer, having worked in the industrial contracting field for LurgiKnost and Pala, Inc before starting Trade Construction Company from which he retired. Being around friends and family brought great pleasure to him, as well as his 30 year monthly Bouree Group. Annual crawfish crab boils at his home were enjoyed and looked forward to by many. He thoroughly enjoyed following LSU the New Orleans Saints, hunting, fishing, and playing racquetball with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winnfield and Edna Bergeron Talbot and brothers, Dale and Barry. Surviving him is his wife of 43 years Beryl a son Seth and wife Becky of Baton Rouge granddaughters, Adele and Samantha a sister Linda Boudreaux and husband Clyde of Lafayette his motherinlaw caregiver, Shirley Griffith and numerous nieces and nephews, who provided him with a tremendous amount of pride and joy. A special thanks for the care he received from Dr. Carl Luikart, Dr. Kyle Girod sitters Donna Pearson and Jackie Arthur, and nephew Paul Talbot. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home 11817 Jefferson Hwy on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9 AM until service at 11 AM conducted by Deacon Tommy St Pierre. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
