Dianne Norwood Dean, age 67, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Tuesday, February 16 as a result of COVID-19. She was, without question, a very special person.
Always wanting to try a new adventure in life, be it fitness, good food, interior decorating, landscaping, traveling the world, or even riding motorcycles, Dianne never did anything with less than full force. She sought out the pleasures life could bring and readily shared those experiences with the people she loved.
Dianne was singularly focused on the needs of others, seeking out friends, family, and strangers alike with nothing but kindness. Dianne often used impromptu situational comedy to bring joy to those around her, and without fail, her antics would put a smile on everyone's face.
She is survived by Robert Dean, her husband of fifty years, and their three children: Dustin Dean and spouse, Linde, Lacie Dunigan and spouse Jason, and Marshall Dean and spouse, Aaron. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Sawyer, Jacob, and Evangeline Dean, and Leighton and Kate Dunigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Thelma Norwood and two brothers, Ronald Dean Adams and James Nelson Norwood.
Dianne’s funeral was held in private on Saturday, February 20 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. A celebration of Dianne’s life open to friends and family will be announced at a later date, pending public health conditions.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all who cared for Dianne in the SDU-2 unit at the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
