Diane Theresa Acosta, 54, was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who passed away at her home in Baton Rouge on Friday, March 6, 2015.
Diane gave herself unselfishly to her friends and family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren. Nothing was more important to her than spending quality time with her family. Diane grew up in Baker, Louisiana. She spent most of her career working in the legal field. Diane also had a love for music. She could sing, play the guitar and write songs. Music was part of her DNA. It put a smile on the faces of those around her when she picked up the guitar. In the late 90's Diane even moved to Nashville where she ended up working for such country music artists as Lorrie Morgan, Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence, Pam Tillis and several more. But south Louisiana was her home. Nashville couldn't compete with the call of Tiger football and baseball, crawfish boils, and grandbabies. On December 6, 1960 God let an angel named Diane come down from Heaven to show us what it's like to love and be loved. On March 6, 2015 God needed her back in Heaven. A little less sunlight in our lives now that she's gone but we know Heaven has never shined so brightly with Diane singing with a host of angels in her eternal home.
She is survived by her mother Donna Evelyn Acosta, her daughter Chelsea Payne and son-in-law Jason Payne, her grandchildren Grayson Thomas Boudreaux and Addyson Grace Payne. She's also survived by her sisters Lynn Bondurant-brother-in-law Albert Bondurant, Carol Acosta, Denise O'Neal and brother, Alan Acosta. Diane was preceded in death by her father Sylvest "Rocky" Acosta, her brother Ronny Acosta, her grandmother Evelyn Davey, and brother-in-law Michael O'Neal-husband of Denise.
