We lost our Nannie on Friday, February 11, 2022 after a tough battle with liver disease. She fought hard and went to eternal rest surrounded by loved ones. Diana Strate Berniard was born on June 27, 1953, in Baton Rouge, LA, and she was a resident of Walker, LA. She is survived by her loving husband Phil Berniard; beloved dog, Lucy; daughter, Ashley Credeur and husband Andy; stepson, Trent Berniard; grandchildren, Claire, Hailey, and Cameron Credeur; sister, Darlene Kemske and husband Gary; nephews, Brad Dedon and wife Courtney, and Drew Dedon; mother-in-law, Bernitta Berniard; and many other family members and friends.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents, James and Rosalie Strate; father-in-law, Pete Berniard; and sister-in-law and best friend, Patricia Wheeler.
Diana worked as a medical office manager, and she retired in 2018. Everyone who knew Diana knew that she always had her hair, makeup, and nails done. Although she loved to be pampered, she also loved to work in her yard and flowerbeds and get her hands dirty. She was the most strong and independent woman you could meet. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. She was the matriarch of the family and was the glue that held everyone together.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, February 17, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at 10:00am on Friday , February 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, LA.
