Derek Smith

Derek Sean Smith, age 46, a resident of Baton Rouge, La passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
Derek was born in Alexandria, La and resided in Morgan City, La where he met the love of his life Brenda Ann Pittman where they blended a family in 1991. Derek loved traveling, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Derek is survived by his children, Natasha Washington and husband, Billy, Nakita St. Julien and husband, Jeremy; Laneisa White, and Shaquetta Coney, Mother Tena Taylor, and father Norman Smith, grandchildren, Makayla White, Jordan Butler, Autumn Butler, Tatum Butler, Ianna St. Julien and Isabella St. Julien, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy on Friday April 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
The family wishes to send their thanks and appreciation for all the words of encouragement and condolences.
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then I carried you."
