Dennis Phegley

A resident of Baton Rouge, 70, he found peace at his home after a short and brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Mona Phegley. He is survived by sons, Thomas and Dennis Phegley, both of Tennessee; a stepdaughter, Andrea Roberts and husband Corey; stepson, James Hudgins and wife Leighann, all of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; a nephew; brother, Joe Phegley and wife Barbara, of Cincinnati; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles And Joyce Payne, Girard, Ill. He will be missed by many other relatives, former coworkers, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pansy, and father, Dennis. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964, attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, retired from Slay Industries in St Louis, Mo., after 41 years of service and then relocated from Fairview Heights, Ill., to Baton Rouge in 2004. A private prayer service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge, Goodwood Church of Christ or Cancer Services of Baton Rouge would be appreciated.
