Dennis Edmon died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 2, 1943 to Terry and Vlasta Edmon, and was raised in Baton Rouge, where he attended Winbourne Elementary, Prescott Junior High, and graduated from Istrouma High School in 1961. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University as a member of Delta Sigma Phi with a B.A. in Business Administration. He served as a Sargent in the United States Army From 1969 – 1971 where he was stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington. He was Contract Sales Manager at Sears for 19 years and was then Vice-President of Pitts Management, & Associates for another 19 years. He served as interim on Baton Rouge Metro Council from 1996-1997 and was an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau for 2 years. He was a faithful, long-term member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where he served as Senior Warden of the vestry for numerous terms and was President of St. Luke’s School Board for 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the love of his life, Sharon Roussel Edmon, who he met when they were childhood neighbors at the ages of 7 and 5. He is also survived by his daughters, Sherri Edmon Pitre Clark (Steve), Robin Edmon Messina (Tony) and Ashley Edmon Danos (Jason), his grandchildren, Brittany Pitre Medine (Tracy), Stephanie and Stephen Clark, Courtney and Barrett Michel, Brooklyn Loving (Tyler), Regan, Morgan, and Logan Danos, four great-grandsons, Grayson, Nathan, Rowen, and Tucker, a brother, John Edmon (Gaye), a sister, Barbara Edmon, and his sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Blouin and Nadine Tullier. Preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Vlasta Edmon, a nephew, Trent Edmon, and a son-in-law, Robert Pitre. Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA from 5 to 8pm on Sunday, June 26. Visitation will continue Monday, June 27 in Pope Hall at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 8833 Goodwood Blvd from 12:30 to 2:00, with a service following at 2:00. Burial will follow at Resthaven Mausoleum. Pall bearers will be Bryant Delafield, Paul Waguespack, Kelly Root, Lacy Howe, Mike Berry, and Mike Gaudet. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Dennis’ name. The family would like to thank caregivers, Rosie Jones, Kenetra Wells, Steve Battley, and Tiffany Dunn.
