Delbert Delano Evans, age 81, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 12, 2015, on the Island of Antigua.
He was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation. Delbert loved to travel and had been around the World more than once. He was also an avid sports enthusiast.
Delbert is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Hilda Baker Evans. He also leaves behind his children, Randy Evans and wife Robin, and Dena Petty and husband Todd; stepchildren, Melvyn Baker and wife Ann, Debbie Elkins and husband Tim, and Tracy Langlois and husband John; grandchildren, Bryce Petty, Lexie Petty, Derek Elkins, Britney Anselmo, Lindsey Langlois, Trace Langlois, and Gabe Langlois; great-grandchildren, Joaney Young, Kendall Brackin, and Brees Anselmo; brother, Carl and wife Carolyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Winona Evans; and brothers, Nelson, JD, Rex, Paul, Charlie, and Mike.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 4, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 10:30 AM until memorial service at 12:00 PM.
