Debra Pendergraft Jones, 61, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away in her home on September 5, 2018 after a lengthy and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Debra was born on August 11, 1957. She graduated from Central high school in 1975 and became a beautician. Debra cut, permed, and styled the hair of Central residents for many decades.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Pendergraft, and her brother, Randy Pendergraft.
She leaves behind her husband, Lilburn "Lee" Jones, mother Dera Pendergraft, brother Keith Pendergraft and wife Iris, sister Kathy Island, daughter Tabitha Tourere and husband Casey, daughter Kristen Retana, stepson William Lee Jones and wife Elizabeth, beloved grandchildren Gabriel, Canaan, Evangeline, Isla, Ivy, Trace, and Layton, and nieces and nephews Mark, Jeremy, Josh, Ashley, and Jonathon.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10:00 am until funeral services at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Casey Tourere, Gabriel Rice, Keith Pendergraft, William Lee Jones, L.D. Jones, and Aaron Goolsby.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woman's Hospital, in particular Drs. Dennis Desimone and Michael Puyau, along with Clarity Hospice, especially Ingrid.
