David Alexander Vicknair, 2 years and 5 months old, died early Saturday morning, January 12, 2013, while sleeping at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas with a rare congenital heart defect and an even more rare love of life, of the people around him, and of the adventures that each new day brought to him. David is survived by his parents, Paul and Christy Vicknair maternal grandparents, Arthur Ray Clement and Dan and Mary Mowrey paternal grandparents, David and Rebekah Vicknair, and Shirley Patin Vicknair great grandmothers, Vi Vicknair and Murley Patin aunts and uncles, Carey and Heather Breaud, Beau and Jenny Champion and cousin, Miles. Visitation will be at Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Road, on Thursday, January 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to the Whole Hearts Foundation www.wholehearts.org or a charity of your choice dedicated to the research of congenital heart defects. Please dress casually and in colors David loved bright colors. David was an extraordinary child. We were so blessed to be part of his lifes journey. And the world is a better and happier place for having had him in it.
