A sales manager for Holmes Building Materials, he died of cancer at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 60 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Due to his rare cancer, David donated his body to LSU to further the study for the cure for cancer. Memorial visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, Feb. 16, from noon until service at 2 p.m. Survived by his former wife, Paula J. Robinson; two daughters, Kimberli M. and Shannon N. Robinson; and brother, Greg Robinson. Preceded in death by his parents, Dewey P. and Mary L. Robinson; and sister, Lynn Robinson Rehm. He was a member of a Masonic lodge in Baton Rouge and was an avid LSU football fan. He was both an excellent father and musician.
