David Ricken

David J. Ricken, age 69, native of Chicago, IL, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2016.

David attended George Washington High School and after graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps. During his service he worked as a Combat Engineer and received medals for Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, and National Defense Service. Following his service, David worked as a carpenter and retired from Chicago Local 434.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Ricken; sons, John, Thomas, and Erik Ricken; grandchildren, Andrew, Erin, Makenzie, Samantha, Megan, Alex, & Thomas; sisters, Kathy Ell and Sue Buchanan; and brother, Bob Ricken.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Mildred D. Ricken.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Visitation will continue on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until religious services at 2:00 pm, officiated by Deacon Brent Duplessis.
