David William Peterson passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born July 20, 1936, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Thurston Peterson and Joyce Corbett Peterson. A 1954 graduate of Bay City Central High School, David went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Ferris State University.
He married his loving and devoted wife, Judith Ann Holden, in 1959, in Berkley, Michigan. He retired after over 40 years of dedicated employment as a Chain Drugstore Executive, having worked for Cunningham Drugs, Gray Drug Store and Perry Drugs. Always one to help others, David was a Volunteer at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Michigan, and Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was a member and usher at Bay Presbyterian Church in Ohio, First Congregational Church of Rochester, Michigan, and a Mason.
David is survived by his wife; their children David William Peterson II and wife Christina, and Toni Kae McConnell and husband Robin; his sister Ilene Peterson; and his brother Dan Peterson. “BooBoo” as he was affectionately known, will be forever missed by his beloved grandchildren Cameron McConnell and wife Elizabeth, David William “Will” Peterson III, Steven McConnell, Hayden Peterson, Holden Peterson and Luke Peterson, as well as his great-grandchildren Charlie McConnell, Brooks McConnell and Lydia McConnell.
A celebration of life honoring David William Peterson will be held this summer in Michigan. His family will forever cherish his love of holidays, travel, and live sporting events – but none of those meant more to him than his family.
The Peterson family wishes to send their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers that have been there for him and our family towards the end of his life.
