David F. Mills Obituary
David Francis Mills passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023 at the Southeast Veterans Home in Reserve, Louisiana at the age of 82. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pearl Treuil Mills, daughter Danna Mills Brown, son David Mills, Jr., son-in-law Craig Brown, and grandchildren: Jordan Nicole McCormick, Maegen Brianne McCormick, Brynna Elizabeth McCormick, and Cameron Brown. David is preceded in death by his parents William and Frances Mills, and brothers William, Donald, Ronald, and Tommy Mills. David retired from Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries as an Auditor. He had many hobbies including playing and marching in the Caledonian Pipe Band, Ham Radio operator KB5TL, building, flying and crashing model airplanes into the swamp, building model train sets, leather crafting, hunting (aka falling out of tree stands at nephew’s), fishing at Toledo Bend, flying off of and flipping four wheelers, wood crafting, and gun collecting. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816 at 10 o’clock am Monday, February 27th, 2023, where he will be buried in the Garden of Redemption (take the left and follow around towards the back). Following the service, Pearl and family will have a toast to celebrate David’s life at The Chimes Restaurant located at 10870 Coursey Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70816. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Louisiana lionscamp.org (click on One-time donations and memorials), where his son David attended for many years. The family would like to thank the many caregivers at St. Joseph Hospice and Southeast Veterans Home for their care and assistance.
