David Metz Sr.

David Allen Metz Sr., a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on April 14, 2017, at the age of 91.

David was a proud Marine, and a WWII veteran from 1942 to 1945, who fought bravely at Guadalcanal. He was a member of Local 198 Pipefitters and Steamfitters Union. He served as a deacon for over 50 years, and was a member of Redeemer Baptist church in Baton Rouge.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Metz Sibley; his two sons, David Metz Jr., and Eddie Metz; his grandchildren, Michelle, Patrice, Jason, and Seth; and his 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Metz.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La, on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 11:00 am until funeral services at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
