David Ari Krassenstein, age 50, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on July 15, 2017. He was born on May 18, 1967 in Harvey, LA and graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1985.
David enlisted in the United States Air Force in June 1986 as a third generation Airman. During his 17 years of active service he achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant and received an honorable medical discharge in December 2002. During the course of his military service he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He received an Associate's Degree in both Applied Science Information Systems Technology and Applied Science Microcomputer Technology with Honors from the Community College of the Air Force. He was inducted into the international honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, where he later became a chapter officer.
David is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, his children, Peter Colina (Sorel), Sarah Davila (Josh) and Jordan Krassenstein. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Carmen, Joshua, Owen, Baron, Arlo, Hayden, and a yet to be born grandson.
Also grieving their loss are his loving parents, Steve Redstone and Myra Krassenstein; his brothers, Larry and Brian Krassenstein
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Isaac and Fannie Regenbogen of New Orleans and Harry and Leah Krassenstein of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary, LA.
