David Ell

November 2, 1943 — February 7, 2014

David Anthony Ell, 70, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at his home. Born in Minot, North Dakota, he lived most of his life in Oregon and Baton Rouge. Dave is survived by Arlene, his wife of 24 years son Michael Ell daughters Barbara Schilling, Tina Bettger, and stepdaughter Elizabeth Mike Brando brothers Jon Shirley Ell, and Daniel Ell sisters Rosalie Radke, Pamela Shipley, Shirley Ell, and Mary Scott and many loving grandchildren and extended family. Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. Dave is preceded in death by his parents Anton and Monica Ell and stepson Lynn Slocum Jr. Dave was passionate about computers and technology. He worked as a Technical Engineer at MycoCom in Baton Rouge. In his spare time he enjoyed photography especially nature such as flowers, mountains and waterfalls and all kinds of movies. He was a member of Brownfields Baptist Church and a dedicated supporter of Marys House of Bread, a community help program of the Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Brownfields Baptist Church, 11998 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70811. Visitation at 10:00 AM until services beginning at noon with reception to follow.
