Danny Celestin

Danny Celestin of Hot Springs Village, AR, formerly of St. Francisville and Baton Rouge, LA, passed away June 25, 2016.

He was born March 17, 1944 to the late Felix and Beatrice Celestin.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra White Celestin; son, Dean and daughter-in-law, April; three grandchildren, Matthew, Ansley and Laney-Claire of North Augusta, SC; one brother, Jack Celestin; one sister, Norma Leigh Burns; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by six sisters, Betty Anne Celestin, Patricia McGovern, Jill Stevens, Dot Celestin, Barbara Jones, and Mary Bea Lee; and seven brothers, Felix Marx Celestin, Jr., Jimmy Celestin, Robert A. Celestin, Bruce Celestin, Charles Celestin, Richard Celestin, and Claude Celestin.

He served is the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era and retired from Potash Corp. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Hot Springs Village, AR, and the Knights of Columbus 10208.

He was an avid LSU fan, loved to dance, cook, play golf, enjoy his family and never knew a stranger.

Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume Thursday, June 30, 2016 beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

A Memorial Service will be held in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/ or your local food bank.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Lee, Kelly Burris, Kerby Celestin, Darren Stevens, Hewes Bowden, and Matthew Flanders.

Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Green, Bill Silverman, Bill Ashmore, J.C. Brown, Mike Holley, and Cecil Wheeler.
