Daniel X. Willis, a resident of Baton Rouge, left this earth on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Annette Hay Willis and his children, Danette Kinamore and husband Byron, Carla Dearie and husband, Steve, Denise Ortego and husband, Scott and Son, Daniel X. Willis, Jr. and wife, Skye. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Michelle Schroll and husband, Scott , Christopher Toms and Sharon Ridenour and husband, Bobby. He will be greatly missed by all of his grandchildren to whom he was a loving and very indulgent PawPaw Jordan and Jonathan Rentz, Rachel and Caleb Ortego, Stephanie and Christy Dearie, Xave, Blakely, John David and soon to be born, Samuel Willis. He was also beloved by his step grandchildren, Trace Wilson, Caitlyn and Bobby Ridenour, Scottie and Stephen Schroll, Lexi Auxt, Jacob Kinamore. Daniel will be greatly missed by his brother, Jewel Willis and wife, Gayle, brother, George and wife Sophie and sister, Geraldine and husband, Clay and sisterinlaw, Marion and husband, Ahmed Darrar. He is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dan and Levolia Willis, daughter, Dinah Ann Willis and his beloved Yorkie, Tiny TuTu. Daniel was the Executive Director of The Haven Retirement Home for eleven years and was known for his kindness and patience to all. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, November 12 from 5pm until 8pm. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Saturday, November 13 from 10:30 am until the service at 12pm. Internment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. A very special thanks to Thomas Elkins, owner and CEO of The Haven for his constant love, kindness and support has made a difficult time go smoother. Also, to all the staff and residents of Haven and a very special thanks to caregivers, Joanne Perkins and Margaret Jones, who were a great blessing and to Hospice Compassus and all the staff.
