Daniel Reed

Daniel Bennett Reed, age 60, native of Bunkie, LA, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on October 17, 2015 after a five year battle with cancer.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn Tyler Reed; children, Olivia Reed Ryder (Toby), Adam Bennett Reed (Sarah), Christopher Tyler Reed, and Lauren Elizabeth Reed; grandchildren, Victoria Nicole Hollister (Les), Ewan Bennett Reed, and Liam Thomas Reed; great-grandson, Ryland John Hollister; parents Herman Reed and Harriett "Booby" Harwood; brothers Stanley Martin Reed and David Herman Reed, and niece, Kristin, and nephews Jason, Justen, Lucas, and Roger. Preceded in death by siblings Herman Jr., Margaret, and Michael.

Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM. St. Louis King of France Knights of Columbus will lead a rosary from 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM.

Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at St. Louis King of France Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge. LA. Officiant will be Father Jack Nutter.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Elizabeth McBurney; Dr. David Hanson and the nurses and staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center; and The Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially nurses Christel, Brandi, and Christy.
