Daniel Ulysse LaFleur Sr., age 67, native of Lafayette, LA, and resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
Having been raised in south Florida, Daniel loved the ocean and was an avid sailor. He was also a talented carpenter and horticulturalist who shared his skill wherever it was needed, and brought joy to many with his ready smile and open heart. He had a free spirit and constantly sought adventure, and it was these qualities that led him through an interesting life filled with good times, good friends, and a multitude of stories to share.
Daniel is survived by his children, Dean LaFleur and wife Tessa, Daniel LaFleur, Jr. and special friend Alice, Coila LaFleur Esposito and husband Dean; grandchildren, Luke and Gillian LaFleur, Maddie Fontenot, Caroline and Andrew Esposito, and Ella LaFleur; siblings, Horace A. Wingard, David LaFleur, Stephen LaFleur and special friend Marie Brand, Chris LaFleur and wife Karen, Jeanette LaFleur Smith and husband Ron, and Andrew LaFleur and wife Sandy; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Irving LaFleur and Ella Jeanette Phoenix LaFleur.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Visitation will continue on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70817, from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
Interment will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, LA 70791 at 2:30 PM.
