Daniel Morris Gilbert, 28, a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
Daniel graduated from Parkview Baptist High School in 2007, where he LOVED playing football and couldn't wait to watch his youngest brother play football for his alma mater this year. He was also a diehard LSU fan who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing. He was the regional territory manager for Professional Office Services, Inc. Daniel was a dreamer, and was always planning his next big adventure with family and friends. If he could have gotten his family to live "off the grid" with him, he most definitely would have. He was one of the most accepting people you would ever meet, and such an easy-going guy. He loved everyone, loved life, and loved the simpler things. He had the most contagious laugh and while he would never make a fool out of himself, he most certainly encouraged others to do so.
Daniel was a man of faith, such a good brother, and an even more exceptional son. As one of his friends said, "He put such a high importance on family... that's what I think of when I think of Daniel" As hard as it is to accept, we know that he is in heaven with his eternal Father and we will all meet again. He will be loved and missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Mike and Laura Gilbert; brothers, Derek Gilbert and his wife Becca, Adam Gilbert, and Jacob Gilbert; maternal grandparents, Martha and Terry Bordelon; paternal grandfather, Owen Gilbert; aunts and uncles, Darryll and Diane Tanner, Donald Tanner, Brian and Leslie Nallin, Steve and Deloris Gilbert, Donnie and Kim Blankenship; and a host of loving cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Bobbye Gilbert and maternal grandfather, Donald Tanner.
Visiting hours will take place at Istrouma Baptist Church on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 11:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM Burial to follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park in Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Christian Malbrough, Mason Hitt, Blake Hannaman, Jacob Henderson, Garrett Ezell, and Scott Kirby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Nallin and Aaron Nallin.
