Daniel Leon Englert was born in Ballinger, Texas, in 1943. A resident of Baton Rouge and a former resident of Mobile, Ala., he died Monday, April 14, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston from complications of myelofibrosis. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn; his daughter, Angela and husband Curtis Zeringue; brother, Ervin Englert; sisters, Bernice Finto and Lavern Gully; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Evelyn Englert; sister, Jean Tiller; and brother, Jimmy Englert. Dan was retired from DuPont Chemical and Lowes. He loved to travel with his family, fish and was a master gardener. A special thank you for all the wonderful care given to Dan by all the nurses and caregivers on the G11 floor of M.D. Anderson and especially Tim Poon and Marla Throssel. Memorial service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m, with the Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Private entombment service was held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Stem Cell Fund, In memory of Daniel L.
