A retired Mechanical Engineer with Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corporation and Bernard Burke Group, passed away at the age of 83 on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his home in Baton Rouge. He was a Korean War Army veteran with the M.A.S.H. Unit 8225 Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 1pm until 4pm. The memorial service will be at 1:30pm with a gathering to follow. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mattie Hanks five children, Rose Ann, Karen Sue, A.V., Sharee and Beckie seven grandchildren, Dakota, Ashley, Sarah, Greta, Erin, David Jr., and Jody two great grandchildren and two brothers and a sisterinlaw, Kenneth and Carol Hanks and Willard Hanks. He was preceded in death by his son, Ben Dalton Hanks parents, Dalton and Ivena Hanks and a brother, John Hanks. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher McCanless and the Hematology and Oncology Clinic for the eleven years of loving care.
