Dale Sands

Dale Robert Sands, 53, a resident of Greenwell Springs, LA, passed through death into eternal life on August 22, 2017.

Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Although he was born in Trenton, New Jersey, he lived most his life in Baton Rouge, where he married Kim Coody, raised his family, and made the many friends that today mourn his passing.

Before all else, Dale was a Christian who lived to please God. His faith shaped his ideals, inspired his music, motivated his deeds, and made him resilient in the face of setbacks. No truer word can be said of Dale than this: those who knew him best, loved and admired him most. He will be desperately missed.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Coody Sands; by his children Addie K. Sands Moss and husband Joshua, Amelia G. Sands, Abigail N. Sands, and Luke R. Sands; by his grandchildren Deacon V. Moss, Alden B. Moss; by his siblings Shirley J. Sands, Joyce A. Owen and husband Charlie, Mark R. Sands and wife Candace, and Paul F. Sands and wife Linda; and by his many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Community Bible Church in Baton Rouge, on Monday, August 28 from 5:00-7:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Victory Harvest Church in Baton Rouge on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to the Missions Fund at Community Bible Church.

The Sands family wishes to express their heart-felt gratitude for the love, prayers, and acts of kindness shown them by their many friends. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
