A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 8 p.m. Dec. 16, 2007, at home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer. He was 70 and a native of Donaldsonville. He loved fishing, golfing and LSU tailgating. The founder and and C.E.O. of Intek Corp. South, he was also a veteran of the Army National Guard. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service at 9:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Schatzle. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Martin Robert; three sons, Dale Tommy Robert Jr., Michael Robert and Mark Robert and wife Karen Landry Robert; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Jody Stephens and Linda and Duane Thibeau; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver Paul Jr. and Terry Robert; Doran and Dorothy M. Robert, Clinton and Glenda Robert and Charles and Rita Robert; sister-in-law, Shirley M. Burke; eight grandchildren, Brent Talbot, Stacey Talbot Long and husband Blake Long, Leigh Ann Thibeau Cheshire and husband Scot Cheshire; Leslie Thibeau and Derek Gatlin, Christopher Robert, Kelly Robert, Kimberly Robert and Kory Robert; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Alexis and Isabella Grace Talbot, Julianne Marie Long and Emma Lee Gatlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Brent Talbot, Chris Robert, Blake Long, Scot Cheshire, Derek Gatlin, Duane DeGruy. Honorary pallbearer is Kory Robert. Preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Paul Robert Sr. and Myrthee Doran Robert; and a great-grandson, Jacob Ryan Thibeau.
