Cynthia Dunn

Cynthia Segrest Hamilton Dunn of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 in her home in Charlotte. She was 80 years old. Cynthia was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and lived many years in Punta Gorda, Florida and Longboat Key, Florida. She is preceded in her death by her husband, Dr. Wesley A. Dunn of Longboat Key, Florida. Cynthia was a loving mother of four children and is survived by two daughters, Cyndee Hamilton Taylor of Jerusalem, Israel and Elizabeth Hamilton Doggett of Charlotte, NC, one son, John B. Jack Hamilton of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A son, William Cabell Hamilton preceded her in death. She is also survived by two sonsinlaw, Peter Craig Taylor and John Patrick Doggett, a daughterinlaw, Julia Pickford Hamilton, a sister, Jane Segrest Brenner of Punta Gorda, FL, a brother, Ben Howell Segrest of Winter Park, FL and a sisterinlaw, Janet Segrest. Cynthia also is survived by two stepchildren Todd Chas and Jane Santiago. Cynthias grandchildren are Katherine Miller of Metairie, LA, Tyler Hamilton of Fairplay, CO, Sara Hamilton of Baton Rouge, LA, Grace Singletary of Lynchburg, VA, Emma Doggett and Cabell Doggett of Charlotte, NC, and one greatgrandchild, Macie Miller. Cynthia also had many nieces and nephews. Cynthia loved the outdoors, was an avid golfer and loved to captain her boat The Mistletoe. She loved genealogy and history. Her main love throughout her life were her children and she will be so missed by her family. Cynthia is a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended LSU where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Cynthia had a successful career as a Real Estate broker in Louisiana and Florida. Cynthias funeral arrangements are being handled by Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA. Visiting will be on Sunday, June 30 from 2:00 pm 5:00 pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at St. Margarets Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge at 11:00 am Monday, July 1st with a burial service following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
