Cynthia Ann Banta

Cynthia "Cindy" Banta died peacefully on January 12, 2015 in Hammond, LA at the age of 56. Cindy was born on December 21, 1958 in Potsdam, New York to Frank and Phyllis Swinyer. She graduated from Parishville - Hopkinton School in 1977. She married Burton Joseph Banta III in 1990. Cindy worked for Capital One Bank and Tangi Lanes where she had many friends and co-workers who she considered family.

Cindy is survived by her children, Burton Banta IV, Emily and husband Timothy Decker; grandchildren, Madelynn and Rayleigh Decker; sister, Sue Grant; brother, Phillip Swinyer, John Swinyer, and Guy Swinyer; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Williams.

Cindy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burton Banta III; parents, Frank "Joe"� and Phyllis Swinyer; and her brother, Frankie Swinyer.

Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visiting will resume on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 8:00 AM until service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
