Cw04 Willson, Jr.

CWO4 Herman T. Willson, Jr., US Navy (ret) 05/25/1937 - 02/19/2017 Baton Rouge resident, set sail by orders of the supreme commander. "Bo" to family and friends, defined himself by his naval career serving his country with pride, dedication and honor from July 1954 thru January 1989. Assigned to both Pacific and Atlantic Fleets aboard 10 aircraft carriers (many the largest of their time), several continental duty stations and one assignment in Bermuda, "Bo" was able to see the world.

He retired from the USS Saratoga CV-60 in Jacksonville, FL serving 33 years, the last 3, an extension by Presidential authority. "Bo" retired from his 2nd career with Loomis Wells Fargo returning to LA after the death of his bride of 35 years, Addie Mae "Pat" Lucas Willson.
Also preceding him in death, his parents, Herman T. Willson, Sr. and Alice Ferne Pettigrew, nephews Kent Hery and Scott Miller, and one great nephew.

"Bo" is survived by sisters, Nellie B. W. Hery, Margie R.W. Miller and her husband Warren, and Sandra L.W. Schneider; nieces, Karen Hery Stevens and her husband Charlie, Amy Miller, and Sara Schneider; nephews, Karl Hery, Kurt Hery, Kris Hery, and Mark Miller; great nieces, great nephews and great-great nephew; several cousins including, Jeanette Welch with whom he remained close since childhood; and a deeply cherished friend, Kasey Louque, whom he embraced as his granddaughter.

A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00pm, March 11, 2017 at Meadows Chapel United Methodist Church, 16172 Hwy 73, Prairieville, LA 70769. Followed by a reception in the church hall.
