Beloved father, brother and friend, Curtis Lee Patton lost his battle with cancer after a stay at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at 1:35 p.m. He was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Many to Raleigh Lee and Lela Bush Patton. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1946 and went to work for a new construction company, Buquet and LeBlanc, later becoming co-owner of the company then serving as chairman of the board. He retired from Buquet and LeBlanc in 1985. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna; and sister, Claire Fern Berry. Survived by his son, Charles Curtis Patton, of Pierre Part; his granddaughter, Amber Patton, and her grandmother, Shirley Alexander; sisters, Ruth and her husband, W.T. Firesheets, of Baton Rouge, Lois and her husband, Asa Curtis, of Shreveport, and Kathleen and her husband, Ray Hooper, of Wiley, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was loved and will be missed by all. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Rockwell. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 70615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
