Curtis Patterson

Curtis G. Patterson, age, 86, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on November 14, 2018. Curtis was born September 23, 1932 in Marion, Union Parish, LA and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1950. He attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1955.  He continued his education at Texas A&M and received a Certification in Meteorology which he used as an Air Force Weather Forecaster.  Curtis served in the US Air Force from 1955 until 1959 when he received an honorable discharge as a 1st Lieutenant.  He was a licensed Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor from 1955-2005.  He retired as the Assistant Secretary of Louisiana DOTD in 2001 with 46 years of service to the State of Louisiana. Curtis was a current member of Goodwood Church of Christ where he also served many years as a deacon. Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Marciel Reagan Patterson of 66 years; sons, Gregory Carl Patterson and wife Liz, Michael Wayne Patterson and wife Lynne, Ronald Grey Patterson and wife Vivian, William Arnold Patterson and wife Heather. 5 Grandchildren -  Christopher Patterson, Tyler Patterson, Hayden Patterson, Wyatt Patterson, and great granddaughter Elizabeth Patterson, step grandchildren Anne Jones, Sarah Jones, Patrick McCune, Gwen Sims, step great grandchildren Brooke Thomas and David Sims and his half-sister, Martha Lynn Patterson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Gray Patterson and Inez Albritton Patterson; brothers, Charles Allen Patterson, Lloyd Waylon Patterson; sister, Myrna Loy Patterson. Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Heart Association or Goodwood Boulevard Church of Christ.
