A retired employee of Illinois Central Railroad and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 71, a native of Meridian, Miss., and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Larry ODell, pastor of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Nancy Mosley three daughters and sonsinlaw, Cheryl and Stewart Hawley, Carol Mosley and Randy Breland and Carrie and Charlie Cooper sister, Dorothy Smith and five grandchildren, who called him Pa Dent, Chapman Cooper, Cade Cooper, Caitlin Hawley, Casey Hawley and Maya Breland. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Curtis and Grace Mosley sister, Maxine Pearson and brotherinlaw, W.P. Smith. Pallbearers will be Charles Cooper, Randy Breland, Stewart Hawley, Brad Browning, Thad Smith and Bill Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Rainey, Carl Letterman, Bill Pettigrew, Cecil Chapman, Darnell Browning and Ronald Fly. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Derrick Spell, Dr. Charles Woods, Dr. Denzil Moreas, Dr. J. Carter Balart and Dr. Maureen Jones for their expert advice, compassion and encouragement at this time of need.
