Corinne Trahan

Corinne Guerin Trahan, age 100, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Ventress, LA, passed away on Wednesday, August 16,2017.
Corinne was born in Ventress, LA on February 6, 1917. Her parents never spoke English only French. Corinne grew up with her nine siblings on what they called the "Island". She moved to Baton Rouge in 1939 and met her husband at a dance. They were married in 1941 and only lived in two houses for their remaining years. The first one was located off Weller Avenue and the second in the Glen Oaks area. She enjoyed her family and her many friends, a good game of bouree, watching LSU sports and a trip to the casino.
Corinne is survived by her daughter, Pam Trahan Jastram and husband, Mike; her three grandchildren, Michelle Jastram Patrick and husband, Judd Patrick of Denham Springs, Melissa Jastram Moran and husband, Burke Moran of Bozeman, MT, and grandson Bryan Jastram and wife, Kristen Jastram of Baton Rouge; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Lauren Patrick, Thomas and Michael Moran, Collin and Grant Jastram.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie (Bill) Trahan; her parents, Raoul and Eleanor Guerin; six sisters, Blanche Guerin, Edna Guidroz, Irene Jewell, Rachael Guerin, Adele Jewell, Evelyn Earl; and three brothers, Roland, Louis, and Edwin Guerin.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Lorette and Gloria and her 3pm coffee drinking partners, Norma & Punnie for their care and friendship; a meeting that took place every day for fifteen years. You did not call between 3:00-5:00pm. Coffee was at 3:00 and the soap opera at 4:00. Corinne had many good relatives and friends but none better than her friend of 68 years Hilda Mae Hebert. That friendship also started with a cup of coffee.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10:00 am until funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
