A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Connie Nga Banh, received her angels wings at 9:42 pm, June 6th, 2011, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. She was 49. She is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be remembered for her love and compassion for her family. Through her life, she enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening. She is preceded in death by her father Hai Phuoc Banh and brother Cong Phuoc Banh. Dearly loved by her family, she is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jimmy Nhi Cao and 4 children: Scott, Shelly, Shane, and Shawn. She also leaves behind her mother Duoc Huynh. She will be missed by her siblings and their spouses: Hiep Banh Dung and husband Hoa Jennifer and husband Charles Heather and husband Su Steven and wife Sally Laura and husband Thinh Amy and husband Tuan Nam and wife Phuong Tony and wife Amy Julie and husband Jeremy stepdaughter Dung and husband Chanh stepson Tuan and wife Thuy 4 grandchildren and countless beloved nephews and nieces. The family wishes to especially thank her doctors and caregivers for their dedicated care throughout her illness. Visitation will be today, June 7th, from 4pm7pm and Wednesday, June 8th, 3pm7pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home on 11817 Jefferson Highway. Funeral services will be held at 9 am Thursday, June 9th, 2011 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity in Connies honor or mailed to 16125 Batavia Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70817.
