Cody Casey

Cody Lane Casey was called to his eternal resting place on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 29. He entered this world on December 17, 1991 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his parents, Shane and Wendy Casey; brother, Tanner Shane Casey; grandmothers, Judy Ann Casey and Donna Holder; uncle, Curt Stanford; aunt, Mandy Lawrence and husband Gary; nephew and niece, Dylan and Aubrey Lawrence; cousins, Chris Casey and wife Diana, Jacob Casey, Lauren Casey, Steffanie Casey, and Myranda Akers. He also leaves behind too many friends to list around Louisiana, and in his home state of Texas. He was currently employed by Safe Home Security as a Sales Manager.

Cody graduated from Red Oak High School in 2010.  He had a love for soccer and played on his high school Varsity team. Even though soccer was his favorite sport to play, his all-time favorite team to watch was the Dallas Mavericks. He was a Cowboys fan, cheered on the Stars and also the Manchester City Soccer club, but to be honest, he loved all sports.

Cody grew up fishing. He shared the love of fishing with his Dad. Many great memories on the lake together. Yet, they both knew it wasn’t really about the fish.

Cody was a terrible dancer but was never shy to get on the dance floor. He was a terrible singer, but sang anyway. These are some of the greatest characteristics we loved about him.  He was also an instigator.  You always knew when Cody walked into the room because he could get the crowd going and the fun and jokes were full speed ahead. He was also the king of messing up phrases. We called them “Codyisms”.  He would say things like “kill one bird with two stones” rather than “you can kill two birds with one stone”.

Cody was known for his enormous heart, infectious smile, and his kind compassionate spirit. Cody never met a stranger. He was a friend to all.  Our world is dimmer without our bright shining star, but he will remain in our hearts forever.   A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Dallas.
