I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness 2 Timothy 4:7-8. A retired Gulf States employee and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Monday, April 14, 2008, at 12:40 a.m. He was 83, a native of McCall Creek, Miss., and U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, April 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tommy French. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Kling Wilson; two daughters, Becky Mangin and husband Mike and Karen Sirman and husband Mike, all of Baton Rouge; son, Glenn Wilson and wife Ruby, of Oxford, Miss.; three sisters, Marjorie Montgomery, Idell Chapman and Joy Craddock and husband Buddy; sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson; grandchildren, Theresa White Bailey and husband Mac, Melinda White Gautreaux and husband Kevin, Kevin D. White and wife Denise, Kyle Sirman and wife Jenny, Krystal Sirman, Rachel Sirman, Jessica Wilson and Tory Wilson; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beulah Wilson; and brother, Carrol Ray Wilson. Pallbearers will be Tory Wilson, Kevin White, Kyle Sirman, Mac Bailey, Kevin Gautreaux and Tim Kraddock. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Adult One Sunday School class at Jefferson Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge or Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe. He was an avid hunter, outdoor enthusiast and family man who loved visiting his camp in Mississippi. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
