Clifton (“Cliff”) Jean Laurent, Sr., a native of White Castle, LA, passed away at Golden Age Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the age of 92.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Corporal in the 109th Infantry Division. After graduating from Spencer Business School, he worked as an accountant for several companies until he retired from LS Womack. He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly, La where he served as an usher.
Cliff was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Woodmen of the World and American Legion. Most people knew him as an avid bowler. He served many years on the Baton Rouge Bowling Association board and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Highlights of his bowling career were many national tournaments and bowling a perfect 300 game on July 10, 2000.
He is survived by his four children, Suzanne Anderson and husband Richard, Greg Laurent and wife Mona, Donna Hoover and husband John, and Johnny Laurent and wife Lise; grandchildren, Benjamin Anderson (Sarah), Daniel Anderson (Misty), Alex Anderson (Lacey), Angéle Hamilton (Neal), Allyson Laurent, Lacey Domingue (Micah), Summer Russum (Jeremiah), Dillon Chustz, Jessie Hoover (Meggan), Danielle Doucet (Grant), Noe’ Hoover (Donielle), Ryan Laurent (Kelsy), and Whitney Rowland (A.J.); great-grandchildren, Adam, David, Theodore, Emily, James, Zack, Jordan, Alex, Davis, Amélie, Dean, Bentley, Blaydan, Baylor, Lucah, Skylar, Hayes, Makenzie, Ryleigh, Hudson, Madelyn, Greyson, Natalie, and one on the way; brother, Lloyd “Peanut” Laurent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, LaNell Holland Laurent; his second wife, Mary Delores Haydel Laurent; his parents, Noe and Emilie Laurent; and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
