Cliff Melerine

Clifton "Cliff" Melerine, age 64, a resident of Denham Springs and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017.

Cliff graduated from Chalmette High School and later married the love of his life, Jewel (Julie) Melerine. Cliff was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Cliff enjoyed fishing, trawling, duck hunting, building and repairing. He was a certified welder, fisherman, an expert shrimper and a jack of all trades. Cliff loved his children and grandchildren most of all and will be loved and missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jewel Melerine; his sons, Clifton Melerine, III and wife Maria, and Troy Melerine and wife Jennifer; his daughter, Lynn Hays and husband Jay; his brother, David Melerine; and his grandchildren, Jayce, Jay Jr., Talon, Nola, Cliffy, Karis, and Sully.

Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Frances Melerine; and his brother, Keith Melerine.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 12:00pm until funeral service at 2:00pm.
