Claude Isaac Whiddon went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 17, 2014. He was 86 years old. He was a man who worked hard, lived for the Lord, and loved his family and friends. A resident of Pride, he was born in Independence, Louisiana on September 1, 1927 to Drucilla Watts Whiddon Ivy Nathadus Whiddon. He was an Army World War II era veteran and worked and retired from Kaiser Aluminum. A godly man, he was active at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Independence, Temple Baptist, Lanier Baptist, and Greenwell Springs Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. He enjoyed the simple things in life, working in his yard and playing with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Drucilla Whiddon brothers and sister, Alton Whiddon, Nathalea Whiddon Cooper, and Benjamin Whiddon grandson, Steven Daniel Whiddon and greatgrandson, Garrett Matthew Whiddon. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leatrice Whiddon his children, Carolyn Whiddon Cappo and her husband Richard, Terry Whiddon and his wife Charlene, Ronald Whiddon and his wife Diane his daughterinlaw, Jodie Morales Whiddon six grandchildren, Brandi Cappo Rinaudo and husband Chris, Nathan Whiddon and wife Erica, Rebecca Whiddon, Allison Whiddon Martin and husband Andrew, Amanda Duncan Meyer and husband Jeff, Kelly Duncan Kleinpeter and husband Jason eight greatgrandchildren, Brenley Claire, Gracen, and Hadley Rinaudo, Grant and Emma Whiddon, Riley Duncan, Jeffry and Sadie Meyer three sisters, Mary Lashoutta, Frances Maurer, and Ventriss McDonald and a brother, Ivy Whiddon Jr. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm and will resume on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 10 am until funeral service at 12 noon, officiated by T.
