C.J. Broussard, Jr.

July 17, 1946 — August 29, 2022

C. J. Broussard, Jr., peacefully passed away on Monday August 29, 2022 at his home in Baton Rouge at the age of 76.  He was born July 17, 1946 in New Iberia and was a 1964 graduate of Catholic High School New Iberia but was a lifelong resident of his adopted Baton Rouge. He received a B.S. in Personnel Administration from LSU.  He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. During his lifetime, he was a member & President of the East Baton Rouge Lions Club, President of the Capital Area Personnel Association (SHIRM) and held every office of the Willow Ridge Homeowners Association. He was a founding member and long-time officer of LNNMUG which was a telecommunications association.   In May 2009; he retired from Audubon – AIG with 35 years of service having held positions in Human Resources, Research & Development, and Administrative Officer.  An original member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, C. J. was always involved in numerous church stewardships, especially St. Vincent De Paul Society, Coffee and Donuts, Blood Drives & Collection Tabulation.

He looked forward to his monthly Bouree group which has met for over 45 years and was originally comprised of 6 of his fraternity brothers. Over the years, he enjoyed racquetball, snow skiing, traveling (especially cruising), dancing and bowling.  He was known for his excellent organizational skills.  Doing small projects around his home occupied his later years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude J, Sr. and Anne Champeaux Broussard, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Evelyn Dean.  Surviving him is his wife, best friend and partner in fun for 52 years Vicki Dean Broussard, a sister Frederica Broussard Tucker, mother in law Zepher Dean, brother in law Wayne Dean, nephews, Ricky Tucker & wife Lynette, Barrett Tucker, Donnie Dean & wife Kim, David Dean & wife Diane, and Philip Dean & wife Melisa.  He left behind many great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews, who provided him with a tremendous amount of pride and joy.

Paul Bearers will be David Dean, Wayne Dean, Philip Dean, Donnie Dean and Ricky Tucker.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Noon with a mass of Christian Burial to follow the visitation.  Burial will be in the Resthaven Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in C.J.’s name to the James “Jay” Giblin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Catholic High School, 808 Hearthstone Dr., Baton Rouge, La. 70806
